I'm sick, can't have my photo taken, look at these links instead.

Me over Easter weekend, at 100% health and in 100% sun. A huge contrast to today where I am at 40% health and in 10% sun and 90% rain. Image/Maddy Budd.

Today I had planned to post some kind of outfit post of some of the new clothes I’ve acquired recently, but then on Tuesday night at precisely 8:22pm, the darkness hit. I swear to god I have never caught a cold so quickly. It’s like, one minute (at 8:21pm) I was feeling right chipper and the next I had that gross feeling in the back of my throat and my brain was pounding the inside of my skull. Anyway, fast forward a couple of days and I am currently in bed still (it’s 12:47pm) – which is not really much of a difference to my usual day if I’m being completely honest – but this time I am surrounded in tissues and teacups and empty packets of Panadol. What happened? I don’t know, but it feels like this is some kind of karma. I knew I shouldn’t have parked in that loading zone the other day, damnit.

So, because I am not looking or feeling anywhere near good enough to have my picture taken, I am bringing you a list of things of other interesting things to look at instead:

Hey I don't know you and this is crazy but I made this video – watch it, maybe?

If you’re good at the internet, you’ll know where I’m going already by reading the title of this post. If not, get with the programme! Long story short, a good few weeks back I saw the original parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s music video for her single, ‘Call Me Maybe’ (starring tween heart-throbs Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale) and I was immediately obsessed. Then and there I vowed to make a parody video of the parody video.

I promised myself I would remake the video as part of promotion for Isaac and my ‘Thugged Out Since Cub Scouts‘ tees back in February, but life got in the way and it didn’t get done in time. Nevertheless, a solid month later I did manage to truck on with the project and finally last Thursday night (and Friday night, and Saturday night) I (and a whole host of friends and models*) got together to create what I like to think is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I do realise there are a lot of people who won’t appreciate this at all, but screw them, it was ridiculously fun to make (aside from the 20 hours of editing using iMovie when I don’t know how to operate it). I mean, how often do you ever get to just let loose and act like a 15 year old girl and have it all documented? Exactly! Hardly ever. It was the best time I’ve had in a long time. So with all that in mind, I hope you enjoy.

Happy Easter Monday folks. We up in here.

What Maddy Wore Today.

Maddy Budd.

Maddy stuck with the self-promotion by carrying a McTavish & Co. bag tonight. She didn’t stick with the ‘disgusted hot’ expression though – I would call today’s face, ‘happy-away-with-the-fairies’.

What Maddy Wore Today.

Maddy Budd.

Maddy Budd turned up today with a ‘disgusted hot’ (her words) look on her face. The tee is new (Maddy seems to have new clothes every day), the cardigan was purchased on a recent trip to America and the bag is made by her new company, McTavish and Co. The beanie is by Carhartt. Holla!

Aside from the surprised expression (it’s gotten to that half way point in the week where people are more receptive to photos and less self conscious and also where they’re tired and will make silly faces just to get it all over and done with), Maddy wore a new Karen Walker top (purchased earlier in the day) and a sample bag made by a friend – one of a range which will be produced and sold later this year. (PLUG ALERT! PLUG ALERT!) Finally, this photo is out of focus but I had to choose it because it makes me laugh. The end.

Highs and Low(e)s.

Olivia Lefebre - Thugged Out Since Cub Scouts.

Highs:

  1. I spontaneously went to the Polo today. I was pretty skeptical at first, but after the long (bus) ride out there, a yarn with a friend I haven’t seen in ages and a few canapés, I was feeling pretty happy. Moral of this story? Food makes everything better.
  2. This video of Tavi (I know, Tavi again, shush yourselves!) singing Neil Young’s ‘Heart of Gold’ live. LIVE!
  3. Our ‘Thugged Out Since Cub Scouts’ tees are labelled, printed and ready to go! Mark your diaries – Thursday evening, here we come!(For many pictures of our attractive friends wearing the things, check out my photo diary.)
  4. This shot of Noah Emrich (from NOVH) by James Nord is so fricken good. The outfit, the pose, the location, everything. He just looks so damn cool. (Sup Noah.)
  5. The Liam launch at the Ruby pop-up store on Wednesday night. Cool collection (keep an eye out for the bright blue pants!) and a cool event with food, drinks and Watercolours playing live. Can’t get much better than that.

Low(e)s:

  1. It’s ‘gutted’ not ‘guttered’! Guttered makes no sense! ARGH!
  2. Stupid voices including, but not limited to – baby voices and pretend animal voices (dogs, cats, etc).
  3. I stood on someone’s sunglasses the other day, and broke them. And not even just a little bit broke them, I broke, broke them. And what’s more, they weren’t even his sunglasses – he had borrowed them from his brother. UGH.
  4. Wow, so that credit card debt is just not going to go away on it’s own, huh?
